    PAPUA - The Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) 501/BY, a unit under HABEMA Operations Command in Papua, once again demonstrated its dedication to the community by swiftly assisting a local farmer who suffered a serious machete injury while gardening in Maybrat Regency. The quick response of Yonif 501/BY soldiers in providing first aid and ensuring the victim’s safety highlights their deep commitment beyond military duties. (Maybrat, 04/02/2025).

    The incident took place in a remote area of Maybrat, where the injured farmer accidentally fell while using a machete, resulting in a deep wound on his hand. Upon hearing the distressing news, the Yonif 501/BY soldiers on duty immediately rushed to the location and provided life-saving first aid to stop the bleeding and stabilize the victim’s condition.

    “It is our duty to always be present for the community—not just as security forces but as true partners who care for the people, ” said Lieutenant Colonel Inf Yakhya Wisnu A. S.Sos., M.Han., Commander of Yonif 501/BY Task Force.

    Following the initial treatment, the soldiers personally transported the injured farmer to the nearest health facility for further medical care. Beyond medical aid, they also comforted the victim’s family and provided educational outreach to the community about the importance of handling sharp tools safely while working in the fields.

    The presence of Yonif 501/BY soldiers in Maybrat is not limited to security operations; they are also trusted allies who are always ready to assist in any emergency. Their empathy and responsiveness have significantly strengthened the bond between the TNI and local residents.
